Shredded Roast Beef

From the kitchen of Terri Board

Slow-cooked, shredded beef sandwiches are a Midwestern staple with roots in both Italian beef (Chicago) and barbecue traditions further south. The addition of pepperoncini or banana peppers in this recipe reflects Italian-American influence — the kind of flavors that had become fully integrated into NE Ohio home cooking by the latter 20th century.
