Ham and Cabbage Supper

From the kitchen of Patty Hykes

Smoked ham cooked with cabbage is a dish of pure Germanic heritage — carried from the Rhine valley to the American Midwest by generations of German immigrants who settled Ohio, Indiana, and beyond. In the April family's Alsatian tradition, this combination would have been familiar for centuries. Patty Hykes's slow cooker version makes it effortless for a modern kitchen.
