A Hykes family Christmas tradition from Brandy Worsham — peanut butter sandwiched between Ritz crackers, dipped in chocolate. Salty, sweet, and completely addictive. The kind of treat that disappears from the holiday tin before anything else.
Ingredients
Ritz crackers
Creamy peanut butter
Chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips
Food-grade paraffin wax or shortening (optional, for coating)
Instructions
Spread peanut butter on the flat side of a Ritz cracker. Top with a second cracker to make a sandwich.
Melt chocolate (with a small amount of paraffin wax or shortening if desired for a firmer, glossier coating).
Dip each cracker sandwich in the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off.
Place on waxed paper to set completely.
Store in an airtight container in a cool location.
For a firmer, glossier coating: Add a small piece of food-grade paraffin wax (Gulf Wax) to the melted chocolate — the same technique used in Buckeyes.
