A simple, classic butter frosting that comes together in minutes. Real butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla — just mix and spread. Terri Board’s recipe frosts one standard layer cake generously and pairs perfectly with the family’s Chocolate Cake or any white or yellow cake.
Ingredients
½ c butter, softened
3 c powdered sugar
4 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
Mix well until smooth and spreadable.
If frosting is too thick, add a splash more milk. If too thin, add a little more powdered sugar.
Frost cake as desired.
