A simple, classic butter frosting that comes together in minutes. Real butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla — just mix and spread. Terri Board’s recipe frosts one standard layer cake generously and pairs perfectly with the family’s Chocolate Cake or any white or yellow cake.

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Mix well until smooth and spreadable.
  3. If frosting is too thick, add a splash more milk. If too thin, add a little more powdered sugar.
  4. Frost cake as desired.
