Apple pizza is a 1980s–90s dessert pizza that hit its stride in the Midwest — a sweet crescent roll crust spread with cream cheese, topped with cinnamon-sugar apple slices. Mary Ringlein’s version is a family favorite that turns a simple pantry combination into something that looks and tastes impressive.
Ingredients
1 pkg crescent roll dough
2 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
½ c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 Tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Press crescent roll dough onto a pizza pan or baking sheet to form the crust, pressing seams together.
Spread softened cream cheese evenly over the crust.
Toss the apple slices with sugar and cinnamon.
Arrange the apple slices over the cream cheese layer.
Dot with butter.
Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes, until the crust is golden and the apples are tender.
